Lake Gaston water levels are dropping after nearly two weeks of higher than normal levels. Dominion Power, which operates the Gaston Dam, advised the Lake Gaston Association that it expected the lake level to rise to approximately 201.2 feet late Saturday evening but then start to drop. On Friday afternoon, at it's peak, the water level at 201.17 was just shy of the predicted height. As of Sunday morning, the lake level had indeed dropped quickly to just below 200 feet (199.89).

Lake Gaston water levels are expected to rise again. Dominion Power, which operates Gaston Dam, says water levels are expected to rise to approximately 201.2 feet thru late Saturday evening but are then expected to drop to 199.9 by sometime early Sunday.
