At our December 2 monthly meeting we did have a speaker from Verizon on Cell phone coverage at Lake Gaston. Ironically the speaker from Verizon experienced less cell phone coverage than he was used to while he was with us.So he was able to let their networking people know before the meeting started.

I volunteered to engage the speaker(s) for our December 2 LGA Board of Directors meeting that we have on the first Wednesday of the month at the Lake Gaston Baptist Church. The topic will be Cell Phone Coverage at Lake Gaston. My vision/dream is to have spokespersons for the major cell phone companies explain their current/future plans to improve their customers’ coverage in the Lake Gaston area.

One topic that often comes up in our monthly meetings when the attendees get a chance to voice their concerns, is cell phone coverage. One of our part-time members attending our annual meeting on June 13th mentioned the frustration with her Verizon cell phone of having a good signal but that she can’t call out due to no channel available or only a bad channel. And had we heard of any new Verizon cell towers going up.

This is one of those Bulletin issues where a lot of the work I’ve been involved with since our April/May issue hasn’t completed before this Bulletin went to press. For example, our three-yearly LGA survey started the beginning of May where we asked you a series of questions, sought your opinions and also your ideas. The survey gave our members a chance to win either $100, $50 or $25 by completing the survey by May 21, with the winners to be announced at our annual meeting on Saturday, June 13.
